Barbershop, hair salon team up for free back-to-school haircuts
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A barber shop and hair salon in Saratoga Springs helped make the start of the school year extra special for students by offering free back-to-school haircuts and supplies on Monday.
“Going back to the first day of school, I know I always wanted a fresh haircut, so we wanted to make sure that they can step into the first day of school feeling fresh on their best foot forward with everything that they needed and have all the confidence that they need,” Tru Cutz Barbershop owner Lamont Washington said. “And we have all the backpacks, school supplies; we have games, we have fidget spinners, we have music; we’re going to have other games, food, all of that stuff.”
Callista and Co. hair salon also offered trims.
“So we’ll take the girls. If necessary, we can do a simple, simple little boy’s cut but we’ll leave that to the barbers,” the owner said. “So it’s nice. It gives them a little confidence boost, even just a little trim up. Nothing crazy, but it’s a great experience to see the smiles on their faces.”
